Passive cooling means quiet computing.
It had an 800MHz CPU, which doesn't look like much, but sometimes it's enough.
It is my MythTV backend and it only needs to take mpeg streams for capture cards, and write it to disk. Not CPU intensive at all.
I used Gentoo Linux on this very good supported motherboard to squeeze all the performance out of it.
With 19W maximum this can be your eco-friendly home server.

Das Via board ist auch im dauerbetrieb als Server geeignet. Die Temp. des Kühlkörpers auf der wärmsten Stelle überschreitet die 60° kaum. Ich habe das Board in keinem Gehäuse verbaut! Dieser PC dient als Webserver und ist rundum die Uhr im Einsatz. Die Performance begeistert mich noch immer. Suspend to Disk, Suspend To Ram alles Funktioniert einwandfrei. Das einzige was ich noch nicht geschafft habe ist im Suspend Mode den PC via Netzwerk (LAN) bzw. über USB Modem rauszuholen, ev. ist da noch ein BIOS Update nötig. Weiters hab ich es noch nicht geschafft mit den USB Stick zu booten! Aber sonsten alles toll!

ich wollte ein kleines mainboard mit geringem stromverbrauch und akzeptabler leistung und habe es bekommen! :-)
Leistung nicht gerade berauschend, dafür bestes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Nicht besonders für mehrere Prozesse geeignet, die volle Last erzeugen. Ideal geeignet für Internet, MP3 und als PC für Anschluss an Video-Beamer (z.B. Power-Point). Sehr stromsparend, auch für Dauer-Betrieb ideal.
